Our Story

SunBreak was born out of a group of friends at UC San Diego. A founding team of 6 engineers and 1 business student came together with a shared vision: to help customers unlock the full potential of their solar power.

We saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between advancing solar technology and the outdated systems for managing energy distribution. Our mission was clear: to create solutions that make solar load balancing smarter, more accessible, and more transparent.

We're passionate about innovation, sustainability, and providing a great service to our customers. By combining technical expertise with a commitment to environmental impact, we've built a platform that helps users maximize their solar investments and reduce their carbon footprint.

How it Works

SunBreak optimizes our customers' electricity use by shifting high electricity loads to be used during sunny days when solar production is high and reducing those loads when solar production is low. SunBreak can save customers up to 20% on their electricity costs.

The concepts of load shifting and peak shaving have been tried and tested on a utility scale. SunBreak aims to bring these technologies to individual businesses and land owners to realize the full potential of their solar power.
